A full life, I suppose.

A full life, I suppose is a filmic portrait of the time shared between the filmmaker and his mother, Androulla, combining new 16mm material shot during his recurring visits to Cyprus with Super 8mm footage shot by his father in the 1970s to chronicle the evolution of bodies and the desires that mark a life. Attempting to balance between observation and construction, the film captures dailiness and domesticity while transfiguring Androulla’s body and inhabited space through close-ups, double exposures and time-lapses. As segments of conversations between filmmaker and mother about her life wander mostly sync-free over the images, encounters with light and darkness in the nooks and furnishings of her otherwise ordinary dwelling arouse a sense of unreality.

Bug Sex

Male black widow spiders will offer themselves up to females as a complimentary post-coital meal. If fruit flies can’t have sex, they get drunk. And a cricket species in Hawaii has undergone the fastest evolutionary adaptation (to their mating call, nonetheless) known to science.cThere are ten quintillion bugs on earth, and they all need to have sex in order for their genes to move on to another generation. BUG SEX takes us into the bizarre world of how bugs do it — everything from sperm packets to sexual cannibalism. In this film, we gain firsthand insights into the fascinating journey of evolution. It offers us a unique opportunity to peer into an alternate world, one that surrounds us every day, yet remains largely shrouded in mystery. Despite our proximity to this world, our understanding of it remains surprisingly limited.

Andrew Gregg

Getaways & Dreams is a whimsical, lifelike, theatrical fantasy that breaks genre boundaries and celebrates life by reminding us of death.

Half-witted Gnus Are A Myth

A bizarre protest film about daily diversity of opinion in a world full of paradoxes. Dystopian messages are coming from the smoke-filled radio studio. On the street, resistance takes its course. Advertisers discuss ways of spelling prosperity and equality. Men experience freedom under the hijab . The livestream from the desert broadcasts endlessly and the giraffe is silent at the end.

Marie-Anne Hafner

Harvest/Hex

Harvest/Hex is a contemporary tale of survival told as an observation of place. The choreography of cars is central to the film’s rhythmic composition. It is a visual incantation; a naturalistic portrait of a hybrid American experience unfolding as a continuous space. The story of twentieth-century American migration, as told in John Steinbeck’s novel, The Grapes of Wrath, correlates with the contemporary reality of an otherwise unremarkable American town transformed into a beacon of short-term prosperity through the hi-tech extraction of oil. The temporary encampments outside the petroleum plant symbolize an unapologetic wish for a new beginning. Just as the little farmhouse that stands against the apocalyptic Kansas winds and the thunder of the cars punctuate a game of survival. This is the collected tableau in which Harvest/Hex resides. These scenarios function together as an open system, like expanded photographs and oblique records of a place and time.

In response to these tensions, she decided to produce two EPs which will form a project. It will be between soul and French song. There you will find the questions of a mixed-race life in a two-speed Switzerland.

Les Microbes

Les Microbes is a film with a special background that emerged in the context of S27, an Arts and Education institution in Berlin. Under the direction of Matze Görig, artists worked with young refugees from several countries to develop a miniature film set by using bulky waste, discarded and found objects, and 3D printed elements. Some participants came for a few hours, others stayed for several months as a core team. The initial goal was to recreate places that were familiar to everyone: a bus stop, a factory, a train, a mountain. During the building process, other places from the participants' stories were added through sharing, such as a town square where someone had been shot for no reason. The resulting models were then filmed in a studiosituation they had set up themselves – and in post-production, the stories of the young makers and the AI-generated images were combined in an experimental way. In melancholy, dark scenes, surrounded by a dense soundscape and accompanied by the poem les microbes by participant Gauthier Kollo, who came to the studio one day, the film reflects the situation of many of the participants at that time: persevering, waiting. Having to wait again and again in order to take the next step forward. Waiting while the world outside is flourishing and exploding.

Sprout

Emerging excitement, a dancing body, and the sensual awakening of sexuality turn this experimental animation film by Florian Maubach into the nucleus of a transformation process. SPROUT is a stimulating short film that pushes boundaries but doesn't solely focus on the pleasure event. It's a metaphorically charged short film that allows an important look behind the curtain of male sexuality and relationships.

Florian Maubach

Sundayman – Go

Having experienced an infinite amount of days, sitting in back seats, observing our parents through rear view mirrors, we felt the need to tell this story as if for once, we were them. This is a story based on real life. Our own lives. Carelessly cruising the greek countryside and island roads while trying to glimpse into the psychological world of our parents. Unaware but yet fully immersed in their universe. This is the story of our mothers, that so well managed to gatekeep their own trauma from us, raising a shield of love and affection around through thick and thin.
